Hello and Welcome

My name is Helen and I’m a therapist, teacher, swimmer of wild waters, and founder of MyWellnessConnected.

For over two decades, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people through hands-on therapies that relieve pain, ease stress, and restore balance. Whether you’ve found me through a friend, a training course, or simply a search for something that feels aligned – I’m glad you’re here.

This page will give you a feel for the work I do, what I believe in, and how my journey has unfolded – from banking to bodywork, from Hampshire to the Highlands.

As a Therapist

My journey into healing began over twenty years ago, after leaving a seventeen‑year career in banking to follow a path that felt more meaningful — and more human. I wanted to do work that genuinely helped people, and Bowen Therapy turned out to be that turning point.

Since qualifying in 2002, I’ve treated people of all ages and backgrounds — first in Hampshire and now from my home in the Highlands of Scotland. Through MyWellnessConnected, I offer a range of gentle, hands‑on therapies including Bowen Therapy, MSTR (McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release), Therapeutic Massage and Indian Head Massage.

My approach is simple: every body tells its own story, and healing begins when we listen. Treatments are calm, precise and deeply respectful — always tailored to what your system needs most in that moment.

Clients often describe my work as both clinical and holistic — a combination of science, intuition and care. Above all, I aim to create a space where you can exhale, rebalance and reconnect with your body’s natural capacity to heal.

Helping Others Learn to Heal

Teaching Bowen Therapy has become one of the greatest joys of my career. After more than two decades as a practitioner, I now share what I’ve learned as a tutor with Bowen College UK, running the Introduction to Bowen Therapy and Enhancing Your Therapeutic Touch courses.

I love watching that moment when something clicks. The moment when a student realises how a subtle touch can make such a difference. My classes are practical, down‑to‑earth and filled with laughter. I draw on my background in leadership, coaching and sports to make learning active and enjoyable, while ensuring that each student feels supported and confident in their own abilities.

Whether you’re thinking about a complete career change or simply want to help family and friends, my courses are a wonderful way to explore the power of Bowen Therapy.

Adventure Shenanigans

Away from the treatment room, I can usually be found outdoors swimming, hiking, or finding some new way to enjoy the wild beauty of the Highlands.

Out of that love for open water and adventure came Adventure Shenanigans celebrating the joy of wild swimming.

What started as a bit of fun has become a community of fellow dippers who share a love of nature, movement, and laughter. The badges I design are a playful nod to that – a way to mark milestones, spark conversation, and celebrate the simple pleasure of getting outdoors.

It’s a lighter expression of the same values that guide all my work: connection, vitality, and joy.

Helen and Ryan Cooper

Passing The Torch

When I moved from Hampshire to the Highlands, one of the hardest parts was leaving behind the wonderful clients I’d supported for so many years. But life has a funny way of coming full circle.

My son Ryan, a natural sportsman and outdoor instructor, retrained in Bowen Therapy and now runs his own mobile practice, Recooperate, in Hampshire and Berkshire. He’s intuitive, kind, and incredibly gifted at what he does (and no, I’m not just saying that because I’m his mum!).

Many of my former clients now see Ryan, and it brings me so much joy to know they’re still in safe hands.
